º POD, one of the best selling games of 1997 that CLASS already brought you º
|
|
º ealier in March (it was supplied by Europe's #1 duo Animal & Dogfriend) º
|
|
º despite the dupe attempt of HBD, returns in a newer version with more º
|
|
º cars, more tracks and more everything. º
|
|
º º
|
|
º When it came in March POD looked shit because the 3DFX version was ripped º
|
|
º by both HBD & CLS since at the time no one had such hardware. º
|
|
º º
|
|
º At the end of 1997 now that most of you are equipped it is a good time to º
|
|
º rediscover this elite game. For those who liked F1 Racing Simulator, you º
|
|
º should know that F1 is using the POD 3D engine. º
|
|
º º
|
|
º The game was a sort of challange since it had 14 ("fourteen" YES) EXEs º
|
|
º which is a kind of record. Each EXE is designed for a specific hardware. º
|
|
º º
|
|
º Congratulations to Yazz & Dumdi for their good work on F1 Racing Sim, and º
|
|
º surprise, history repeated itself with a dupe attempt of HBD. Regarding theº
|
|
º pathetic attacks of HBD, let us examine their November month..so far they º
|
|
º have 11 releases and a dupe, but among those a few require a little º
|
|
º explanation. COMBAT CHESS was a lame game that was available for weeks and º
|
|
º that no group even bothered to release since w/o the movies the game was º
|
|
º lame. But in their thirst for releases HBD did it. Then they did Flying º
|
|
º Corps Gold another interesting fuck up. The major innovation of FC Gold wasº
|
|
º the 3DFX that HBD ripped... What a slaugher. MI 3 is certainly a nice titleº
|
|
º but it should not have been ripped. Besides they had to cut in into pieces º
|
|
º to fit the disk limit. LAME... º
|
|
º º
|
|
º But it was the occassion for HBD to set a world record. The largest fix º
|
|
º ever : 170 Mb..... Thanks for dumdi & yazz to have cleaned up the mess. º
|
|
º Then CARGAMEDDON was another fuck up all they had to do is to use the CLS º
|
|
º version that Dogfriend released a while ago which was 100% working... º
|
|
º And then before that F1 Racing dupe came out Dr Who a nice kiddie game. º
|

º So before you open your mouth HBD clean up your own mess! º

º Run INSTALL.EXE and follow the options to install to a directory of your º
|
|
º choice. When complete, run WINPOD.EXE for the normal version, PODMMX.EXE º
|

º for normal MMX machines, WPOD3DFX.EXE for 3DFX cards and WPODD3D.EXE for º
|
|
º direct 3D h/w like the matrox Mystique. Enjoy! º

º As many people may remember, the original POD required a few fixes before º
|
|
º a 100% cracked version was complete. So we played through this one a º
|
|
º lot to try and ensure we had all the checks removed. Although there were º
|
|
º simple checks in various locations of the game, we also had to put up º
|
|
º with options such as saving being disabled as well as missing files. º
|
|
º Due to the fact that there were so many patches required to crack each º
|
|
º EXE it would have taken too long to individually crack all 14. Hence we º
|
|
º have included cracks for the 4 most common configurations. Special º
|
|
º thanks go to Juice for his assistance in getting the game to the crackers º
|
|
º and to Devil for his cracking and testing of the 3D versions. º
|
|
º º
|
|
º On a more serious note you may have witnessed Hybrid's disgraceful attack º
|
|
º on Dogfriend. Whether this is purely out of jealousy or because of the º
|
|
º realisation that their dream to own November is long since gone, we'll º
|
|
º never know. One thing is for sure though and that is that Dogfriend º
|
|
º remains one of Europe's best suppliers and crackers. Long live the great º
|
