THE OUTER LIMITS
PROGRAM GUIDE
By Bruce T. Goldman
From 1963 to 1965, A.B.C. aired 49 episodes of The Outer
Limits. Sources used to compile this list are Fantastic
Television by Gary Gerani and Paul Schulman, Starlog Magazine
article by Gary Gerani, The June, 1983 issue of Video Review
by Reed Hall and The Signet Book of T.V. Lists by Jeff Rovan.
There is always a comparison of the Outer Limits to the
Twilight Zone, they were both aired in black and white during
the early 60's. Both had dealings with science fiction and
usually had some moralistic viewpoint. The Outer Limits was
always 1 hour and almost always had a monster. My preference
was to The Outer Limits in that the morals and stories were
better developed. I will grant that the writing of the
Twilight Zone was more fluid, but the impact of the Outer
Limits had it beat.
