Here is how to unprotect Electric Desk V1.04 so that you can use
|
|||
|
|
it on a hard disk without having to have the "key" floppy disk
|
|||
|
|
in drive A:. First, copy ELECTRIC.EXE to ELECTRIC.TMP.
|
|||
|
|
DEBUG ELECTRIC.TMP
|
|||
|
|
type RCS
|
|||
|
|
add 2B5D to the CS number in Hex, using something like
|
|||
|
|
Sidekick's calculator in hex mode. Then type the number
|
|||
|
|
that you get (xxxx) in at the colon (:) after the CS.
|
|||
|
|
Then do an E xxxx:1BA8 (return).
|
|||
|
|
You should see xxxx:1BA8 73.
|
|||
|
|
Enter EB (return)
|
|||
|
|
type RCS and enter the original CS
|
|||
|
|
then type W to write the file and Q to quit debug.
|
|||
|
|
Rename ELECTRIC.TMP ELECTRIC.EXE
|
|||
|
|
That's it! You now have an unprotected copy of Electric Desk!
