Due to the closing of many 800# BBS' due to lack of funds, Ray's Top 10 800#
|
|||
|
|
BBS' had to be changed to Ray's Top 5 800# BBS'. This is the current list for
|
|||
|
|
July 1993.

keep this position for quite a
|
|||

while, until another great BBS

comes out with more to offer.

M-Link is still currently running
|
|||
|
|
on 1 line but the wait is well
|
|||
|
|
worth it. In order to upgrade to
|
|||
|
|
more lines, M-Link needs your dona-
|
|||
|
|
tions, so if you would like to have
|
|||
|
|
easier access to it send them in.
|
|||
|
|
Ask the sysop about where to send
|
|||
|
|
the donations once you are on.
|
|||
|
|

2) SBA 1-800-859-4636 This is another one of the greats.
|
|||
|
|
At number 2, this BBS offers the
|
|||
|
|
best message base that anyone could
|
|||
|
|
ever ask for. With many different
|
|||
|
|
message forums you are bound to find
|
|||
|
|
any information that you need. And
|
|||
|
|
the people on this board are great,
|
|||
|
|
they are always willing to help if
|
|||
|
|
anyone ever has any problems. With
|
|||
|
|
plenty of nodes running, you should
|
|||
|
|
have no problem logging on to this
|
|||
|
|
BBS.
|

|

3) Gulfline 1-800-235-4662 This is just one of those BBS' that
|
|||
|
|
you've just got to love. It has one
|
|||
|
|
of the finest files bases available
|
|||
|
|
and the Sysop is the kindest person
|
|||
|
|
you could ever chat with over the
|
|||
|
|
lines. And not to mention the great
|
|||
|
|
message base. With this combination,
|
|||
|
|
this BBS is sure to be in the Top 5
|
|||
|
|
for months to come. In order to gain
|
|||
|
|
full access to Gulfline you must wait
|
|||
|
|
a few days while your registration
|
|||
|
|
gets processed.
|
|||
|
|
|
|||
|
|
4) African Studies 1-800-446-0396 This is a great BBS when it comes
|
|||
|
|
to both message bases and files
|
|||
|
|
bases. Although mainly for the
|
|||
|
|
exchanging of information about
|
|||
|
|
Africa, this bbs is open to the
|
|||
|
|
general public and has quite a few
|
|||
|
|
files available for download.
|
|||
|
|
|
|||
|
|
5) Hyundai 1-800-955-5432 This is a great BBS in the files
|
|||
|
|
department. It contains 22 different
|
|||
|
|
areas loaded with files, although
|
|||
|
|
most are for Hyundai computer users,
|
|||
|
|
there are many available share-ware
|
|||
|
|
and public domain files also. At this
|
|||
|
|
time, the BBS' message base is down
|
|||
|
|
and the sysop is not responding to
|
|||
|
|
users who E-mail him. So this may be
|
|||
|
|
the last month for this BBS being on
|
|||
|
|
the Top 5 List.
|
|||
|
|
|
|||
|
|
|
|||
|
|
If you have any 800# BBS' that you think should be on this list send me a message
|
|||
|
|
on any of these BBS', except Hyundai, stating the name and the phone number of the
|
|||
|
|
BBS. I will check it out and if it is good enough, it will be in the Top 5 List
|
|||
|
|
the next month. The number must be an 800#, available to all area codes in the
|
|||
|
|
U.S., in other words, not just from a certain state or area code, and the BBS must
|
|||
|
|
be completely free to the user, no charges of any kind. If there are enough BBS
|
|||
|
|
numbers given to me, the list may go back to Top 10 BBS' instead of Top 5.
